If you are testing the Omni 6000 flow computer in the lab and wish to test the proving feature, you must have live flow pulses. If you do not have a pulse generator, configure the Omni to generate flow pulses via a digital output channel, which you can then wire back into the flow pulse input channel. Do the following to generate a maximum of 50 Hz via a digital output channel.

1. Write a Variable statement.  7088: 7089=#25 Remark: Generate50Hz

2. Configure an available digital output channel as follows so that 50 pulses will be output every second (Note: 7089 is automatically tied to 1089 internally in the Omni database, so assign 1089 to the digital output channel).

3. Wire the digital output channel signal to the flow pulse input channel.

4. Configure your K-factor to 50 pulses/bbl for an Indicated Volume flow rate of 3600 bbls/hr.

5. To simulate a prover detector signal coming into the flow computer, configure Digital Input Channel 1 as follows and set the prover volume in the flow computer to 10 bbls. The flow computer will generate a pulse every 10 bbls on Digital channel 1 where the Omni looks for the detector signal.
